Carpenter or Millwright Apprenticeship Opportunities
This is a 4-year apprenticeship program which teaches you the basics of Carpentry and Millwrighting through classroom and hands on instruction. Training will not cost anything to you, and you will be able to work during your training period. As a veteran you will be automatically accepted into the program.
General carpenters provide the crucial foundation for concrete, exteriors, roofs, infrastructure, and scaffolding while also crafting fine trim and finish work. These professionals work with a variety of materials in every kind of structure; they are responsible for bringing blueprints to life.
Millwrights install, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment such as compressors, pumps, conveyors, gas and steam turbines, monorails, and extruders. UBC millwrights can be found performing mission-critical work at coal, gas, nuclear, and alternative-energy power plants. Their skills are also vital in industries as diverse as automotive, aerospace, food processing, and pharmaceuticals.
Requirements
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and have a certified birth certificate or state-issued drivers’ license as proof of age
Applicants much provide an official transcript(s) of education achieved
Applicants must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others
Must have relaible transportation
